Welcome, friends.

Mount Vigil is a discipleship platform for the end of an age.

Sometimes, it’s better to say it outright.

Call it an inflection point in the secular cycles of economics and anthropology, or a dialectical synthesis, or a regime shift in a complex system, the point remains: you’re living in a significant time. And Jesus wants it to go well for you.

Here at Mount Vigil, our goal is to help you understand the times, and to make some recommendations about the way you could live if you wanted to thrive.

How do we do that?

Simple: Jesus is the key to reality. We read the academic disciplines through the story of Jesus. We read our times through the story of Jesus. We fashion our lives to experience more of Jesus, so that we can take on more of his nature and find our role in his story.

It’s possible to thrive in a significant time.

We invite you to join us and find out how.

who we are

Who are we?

First of all, nobody. Jesus can use whoever he wants.

After that, we’re two family men and nondenominational church leaders, invested in the economy, culture, and community of our city. We saw something unique happening in the world, and we wanted to know how to partner with Jesus in a hard time.

As we’ve sought the answer to that question, we’ve met with Christian leaders and activists, SRT Police Officers and military Special Operators, priests and farmers and businessmen and lay people, all to unpack the way of Christ. This project is the product of our desire to see our own church thrive.

What Do We Believe?

Our beliefs are best summed up in the Nicene Creed:

We believe in one God,
the Father almighty,
maker of heaven and earth,
of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
begotten from the Father before all ages,
God from God,
Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made;
of the same essence as the Father.
Through him all things were made.
For us and for our salvation
he came down from heaven;
he became incarnate by the Holy Spirit and the virgin Mary,
and was made human.
He was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate;
he suffered and was buried.
The third day he rose again, according to the Scriptures.
He ascended to heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again with glory
to judge the living and the dead.
His kingdom will never end.

And we believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life.
He proceeds from the Father and the Son,
and with the Father and the Son is worshiped and glorified.
He spoke through the prophets.
We believe in one holy catholic and apostolic church.
We affirm one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.
We look forward to the resurrection of the dead,
and to life in the world to come. Amen.
